Is WONDR Experience worth it, or is it just for photos?

WONDR Experience is worth it if you want to spend 90 minutes doing things rather than looking at things. It is not worth it if you want to be told a story or learn something. That is the honest split, and knowing which side you are on tells you whether to go.

The photos are real and they are good. But the fourteen rooms are physical first: a ball pit you sink into, a marshmallow pool, a confetti shower you stand under, karaoke booths you sing in. People come for the photos and stay for the rooms.

What do you actually do there?

You walk a self-guided route through fourteen interactive rooms across 1,500 m². Each one asks something different of you: jump, climb, sing, shower in confetti, get lost in a kaleidoscope. The SpongeBob Special is included with every regular ticket. Hosts are in the rooms to help, and to take your photo if you want one.

Who is it for?

Adults of all ages, and children accompanied by an adult. Reviews on the venue’s own pages come from families with children of four and six, from adults on a city break, and from people who visited on a whim and called it the best part of their trip. The common thread is people who like to participate.

Who should skip it?

Anyone who wants context, history or quiet. There is nothing to read and the rooms are loud in colour and often in sound. If your ideal afternoon is the Rijksmuseum, this is a different kind of afternoon, not a substitute for it.

How long does it take?

About 90 minutes at a normal pace. There is no time limit inside, so you can stay longer. A rushed visit is possible in an hour but you would skip the point of the place.

Is it good value?

Tickets are cheaper online than at the door, by €2 per ticket. Kids tickets start from €17. Digital photos taken by the venue are free and sent to you afterwards. The SpongeBob Special costs nothing extra. Whether that is good value depends on the 90 minutes, and most people say it is.

Where is it?

Meeuwenlaan 88, Amsterdam Noord. One metro stop from Central Station to Noorderpark, then a five minute walk. Card payment only. The Museumkaart is not accepted.
